Located on the River Wensum, Norwich is the capital city of the Norfolk region.
Just 15 minutes walk from the historic city of Norwich, East Anglia sits on a campus with 200 hectares of parkland. Very much a campus-based university, all academic and social amenities are available on site. The city itself has been labelled as one of the UK's top 10 shopping cities and has developed a respectable literary heritage. The university is the first in the UK to offer programs specific to Creative Writing, Development Studies and Environmental Sciences. In addition, it was the first university to study climate change.
Nestled into the heart of the city centre, the campus is surrounded by Norwich's culture. The city itself radiates a rich sense of cultural history boasting a 900-year-old cathedral and ancient architecture. Just 30 minutes from campus students can reach the coast. The institution itself is a specialist arts, design, architecture and media university that has high quality learning facilities including an industry standard media lab. In 2014, NUA was awarded the Excellence and Innovation in the Arts Award by Times Higher Education.
The majority of students in private accommodation live in properties to the south and north west of the city centre - between the University of East Anglia and the heart of Norwich city.
